Brass Scrap
Brass Turnings are generated while chopping or shredding any grades of Brass Scrap, including bearings, bushings, flashlight shells, lamp fixtures, fasteners, locks, hinges, pins, rivets, buttons, plumbing accessories, bolts, pinions, gears, and other decorative applications.
Yellow brass is most commonly used on doorknobs, locks, car parts, and plumbing materials. Brass radiator scraps are commonly recycled yellow brass. Separating brass from other metals can make it more valuable per pound.
Brass is still commonly used in applications where corrosion resistance and low friction are required, such as locks, hinges, gears, bearings, ammunition casings, zippers, plumbing, hose couplings, valves, and electrical plugs and sockets. It is used extensively for musical instruments such as horns and bells.
